I believe stories are the most powerful thing we can give each other. I grew up in the South among some pretty gifted storytellers, and it’s shaped the way I experience the world. The stories we believe influence how we see everything-the world, each other, and ourselves. We can find them everywhere: in dusty old books or scrolling our newsfeeds, around dinner tables or bonfires, from pulpits and barstools and basements. Sometimes we inherit our stories. Sometimes we invent them. And sometimes we just discover where our own story intersects with someone else’s. (It happens a lot more than you think.)
I spend a lot of my time listening to, and learning from, the stories of others so I can help bring them to life. I’ve written copy for lots (and lots) of websites and publications over the years, taught creative writing classes, and am the author of Dig For Your Diamond and Let It Be So. Most of the time, my job is simply helping people dig down and find the right words for the story they’re trying to tell.
If I can help you out, feel free to give me a shout.
